The Dr.'s Visit and the Durango

So, thinking I am such a great multi-tasker I decided I could handle taking the boys to the Dr.'s both for appts. at the same time, kill two birds with one stone right? Our appointment was for Monday at 9:15 and 9:45 that is a little early for the boys and I to be ready to go out the door but I knew we could do it! We pull in the parking lot at 9:05 and I always have to debate if I am going to get Mace out of the car first and hope he stays by me while I get Logan out or if I should get Logan out and try and unhook Mace with one hand.... So, I have come up with my little routine where when we are all in the car I unhook Mace, go over to Logan's side get Logan out and Mace can climb out from Logan's side of the car. We're doing this and i am holding Logan and Mace says "Mom, my shoe fell off!" which we all know he loves to kick them off in the car and then can't put them back on! I was a little frustrated with him because its annoying so I told him to climb in Logan's seat and I would put his shoe on so we did that, get in the Dr.'s office love the Dr. again Logan has to gets shots so as we're waiting for the nurses to come in to do that I start looking for my keys because then we will leave with a screaming Logan and I want to be prepared. Problem, no keys. So we're still waiting and I look all over the exam room, nope not there. So, I figure Logan must have grabbed them outta my purse while i was holding him at the front desk paying our co-pays and they dropped. Logan gets his shots is screaming we walk out to the waiting area where we were sitting where I was SURE the keys would be because I remembered locking the doors while we were outside of the car. no, keys. I retrace my steps with two boys in tow all the way to our car and no keys. So, now what in the H am I gonna do!? Blake works forever away, and Sara had a Dr.'s appt for her baby at 10:45 am at a different clinic! Well, what else can we do? I call Sara and she is coming to pick us up after her Dr.'s. So, the boys and I hang out in the waiting area for ever and a day and meanwhile Mace decides he has to go potty which is great because he wears undies full-time now and is a great potty goer. I can't just take Mace and leave Logan so all three of us haul to the women's bathroom and well, we can't all possibly fit in one stall so already was infuriated with myself for losing my keys so I just let Logan tromp wherever he wants in the bathroom, put Mace on the toilet (which is huge btw) turn around to see where Logan is and hoping he isn't touching something ridiculously disgusting turn back to Mace and he had fallen in the toilet! I know funny, but I didn't think so at the time. here's this little boy with his little scawny arms trying to pull himself outta the toilet while his legs are way up high! I laugh now but I was frustrated and yank on his arm and spit out "Hold yourself up!" mean mom, i know... That adventure was over, Sara comes and gets us and now the dilemma of no car seats. Great way to leave the Dr.'s office with two little boys not in car seats. I put Mace in the regular seat belt and Kanyon was in the middle in her seat and Logan and I were on the other side. I can't just keep Logan on my lap because what if someone sees and calls the police on us so I put him between my legs and Sara took all side roads to her house and we had to stop at one stop light and turn left and the cars were on my side so i threw Kanyon's blanket over Logan's head and hugged him, I felt like I had E.T. under there, this little head bobbin' all over. haha.. Anyway, we made it. Blake left work to rescue me, about 40 minutes later we see him driving in the driveway in my car.... So, what happened to the keys right? I got outta my car, opened Logan's door, got Logan out, locked all the doors with the button and before I could stick the keys in my purse Mace HAD to have his shoe on, so I have no free hands at the moment and set the keys on the floor of the car in front of logan's seat where Mace is climbing into so I can put his shoe on, get the shoe on, get him out of the car, shut the door and proceed to the Dr.'s with a mom and two little boys with a locked car and the keys in it. I am such a IDIOT!
So, back to Blake. Needless to say the Key to the Durango is THE ONLY key we own! Luckily I left my window down a crack because it was super hot that day and Blake unlocked it with the snow scraper because its electronic and so that was easy. However, since he unlocked the car from the inside the car thought someone was breaking into it and the alarm starts beepin' like a maniac so Blake fumbles through the car hoping the keys are in there other wise the car will beep forever and a day! He finds the key and hits the panic button and that makes it beep even more, so he hurries and puts the key in the ignition kinda thinking it will tell the car hey i have the key its fine, well that made it seem like someone was trying to drive it and it won't start the car and it starts showing a security message on the dash.. haha.. Meanwhile, a guy is watching Blake the whole time. he then just starts pushing the lock and unlock button and one of those killed the beeping.
What an adventure!! so the real question is.... Am I such a great multi-tasker that I will attempt to go to the Dr.'s with both boys alone ever again?? I think so!
