A BOY!

Today I had my 17 week appointment and could tell the sex of the baby, we are adding another BOY to our "boyish" family! Now I can keep saying ALL the boys go with the boys! (DAD). I was hoping for a girl and when the Dr. came in, I had said I am hoping for a girl but I think it's a boy and he said "Well, the only thing wrong with your little girl is that she has brains between her legs!" So.. there was my answer. Although he did say it wasn't a great shot because of where the umbilical cord is but he was pretty sure. I sulked for a minute or two but am getting over that and I am excited to have another fun, cute, and busy little baby boy. I will have to buy some beanies for him instead of bows, and blue instead of pink BUT I have experience with boys. I am feeling confident as it settles in more and more that we are meant to have these boys and they can be brothers and I am excited for the relationships they will build with this new little guy.

Mason is struggling a bit he was determined this baby was a girl and her name was Sally. When Sara and I got back from the Dr.'s (and eating a yummy lunch) I told Mason he was going to have another brother and he didn't take it very well. He came up to me and hit my stomach (not hard) and told me he was hitting the baby and then he kicked me in the stomach (not hard). So that was it for me and I told him I was sorry he wasn't having a sister and is going to have another brother and he needs to start being nice or he would have to start going to timeout. That worked, so far. I am sure he will have a change of heart soon, or so I am really hoping he will!

Now we get to decide on a name for this little guy! Choices possibly are: Carson, Kade, Coby.... Those are a few, no definite pick.

On a side note, I did NOT get reprimanded for gaining weight because I didn't gain one pound! Yippee! I need a few more months like that! However, with the baby still growing healthy.

I'm really happy for you. I know that you wanted a girl but at least you can have kids. Just think if you were not able to have even your boys it sucks. I'm sure Mas will love his new baby brother. Lots of Love Char

Char - I totally understand and that's why I was so irritated with myself that I would even sulk for a second. I am just lucky to be able to be a mom.

Congratulations! Boys are fun. I'm not sure what I would do with one but they seem to always come with the best stories. Good luck with Mason. I'm sure once his little brother is here he'll love him just the same.
